Tournaments
One of ORCA's goals is to sponsor affordable, one-day tournaments in Ozaukee County, where they are convenient for chess players north of Milwaukee County and don't require long-distance travel or costly hotel stays. Net proceeds from these tournaments benefit ORCA, a non-profit organization (our tournament directors do not accept a directing fee).
Our objective is to complement other chess activities in the Milwaukee area. In scheduling our tournaments, we do our best to avoid conflicts with other area tournaments, and we use the Wisconsin Chess Association's tournament clearinghouse process.
Join us for our "Seasonal Series" tournaments, one-day, USCF rated events that we will hold four times a year.
USCF-Rated Mini-Tournaments
Occasionally, ORCA offers low-cost USCF-rated mini-tournaments as part of the "Thursday Knights" open chess play. Check this space for announcements of these events!
